Day 22Weapons of Breast Cancer Destruction
Body lotions, face creams, shampoos, antibacterial soap, synthetic perfumes, toothpaste, hair dye and shaving cream. Everyday, each one of us use at least one of these products. I’m a lotion addict. Being a chef, I wash my hands 50 x per shift. That’s a bit of an exaggeration; let’s just say, my hands take a beating. Antibacterial soap seems like a great idea, but it’s chemical pesticide. The ban on these chemicals is already taking place. Lotions sometimes have parabens in them. (See the lotion label, it’s paraben free.) Wax that never leaves the body messes with our endocrine system. I’m sure you are starting to see the pattern here. We don’t want to disrupt our hormone balance. Often, when we look at a cross section of a tumor under a microscope, we can see little “pearls” of these parabens. Sodium Laureth/Lauryl Sulfates are another hormone based cancer contributer. If you start looking, you will be amazed. These harmful chemicals, deceivers of our endocrine system, are in everything! The sad thing is, the company’s know the risks associated with these ingredients. SLS, mentioned above, make shampoo and toothpaste flow smoothly, and lather luxuriously. We get used to this feeling. So many clients have told me they miss this feeling, and return to the familiar products. What is the answer to this dilemma? Give your body a break wherever possible. The only thing we want to do eveyday is change it up with everything we do. Just like exercise, to get great results, we need to challenge our selves. Slowly make the change to more natural products. Besides, variety really is the spice of life.
